West Brom goalkeeper Dean Kiely was delighted with his performance in their victory over Wigan Athletic on Saturday.
He said: "I felt good about those saves but, more importantly, about a positive result for the team, which is what we need to repeat in the final two games.
"Albion fans talk about the 'great escape' in 2004-05 but what the Portsmouth side I was in achieved the same season was nothing short of miraculous.
"Having the experience in my armoury is handy now."
Baggies boss Tony Mowbray said: "I have been tempted to select Dean this season but I don't believe in changing my goalkeeper unless it's absolutely necessary.
"He drives on and can inspire others. His voice in the dressing room is more influential than mine."
