West Brom keeper Foster targets England No1 status

West Bromwich Albion goalkeeper Ben Foster wants to go to the World Cup as England's No1.

West Brom keeper coach Dean Kiely feels Foster is pushing Manchester City's Joe Hart hard in their battle to start between the posts in Brazil.

Kiely told the Daily Star Sunday: "It's easy to get pigeon-holed as the one and two at international level, to switch off and let everyone think you're in Brazil going through the motions.

"But Ben is focused and switched on and I don't believe he buys into the way of thinking that Joe Hart will always definitely play and he's there only as back-up.

"He'll want to get this season done in a positive vein and then you never know what twists and turns might happen.

"Ben's been in great nick since coming back from three months out with his foot injury - he'll be primed and ready if called upon by Roy."
