West Bromwich Albion goalkeeper Ben Foster is impressed by defender Gareth McAuley.

McAuley arrived in the summer from Ipswich Town.

"He's a no-nonsense honest, good hard-working lad," the Hawthorns goalkeeper told the club's website. "That's really what people want from players nowadays.

"I think the fans appreciate it and fellow players appreciate it.

"They're reliable and I think that is such an important word in football now.

"You know what you're going to get from them at any given time.

"It's nice to have players like that in front of you."
