West Bromwich Albion goalkeeper coach Dean Kiely says manager Steve Clarke has kept his players hungry.
Kiely insists the Baggies squad remains motivated after hitting the 40 points barrier.
"When I was at Charlton, every year Curbs [Alan Curbishley] wanted us to get to 40 points," said Kiely to the WBA website.
"We got there and one year I remember us beating Tottenham at White Hart Lane midway through March and getting to 40 points and then we fell off a cliff.
"The euphoria of getting to 40 points and having a job well done can change the mentality - I'm not sure how or why.
"The difference here is that the gaffer has said 'get to 40 points as quickly as possible' and that leaves it open-ended.
"It isn't 'get to 40 points and then relax'.
"What 'as quickly as possible' means is that when we get there we reassess and the job isn't done. We crack on from there."
