West Bromwich Albion goalkeeper Scott Carson expects Andy Carroll to start for Liverpool this weekend.
Carson will come up against his old club when the Baggies hosts Kenny Dalglish's resurgent Reds on Saturday afternoon and he admits that he is wary of a man who netted his first goal for England in midweek.
Carson said: "Andy Carroll scored a great goal for England on Tuesday night, so he'll be full of confidence and it's going to be a difficult game, no question about it.
"Maybe the goal for Andy came at the wrong time from our point of view did but everyone knows he's a handful and everyone knows his strengths.
"We've got to prepare for them and hopefully we can keep our own form going.
"Everyone thinks he's a big target man really but I think he showed against Ghana on Tuesday, in the way he came short for the ball and was laying off short balls, that he's got great feet.
"He showed his game is not all about people hanging the ball up to him to go and attack headers.
"He's a top player so we're going to have to be on our guard."
