West Brom keeper Carson expecting Carroll confidence

Ahead of this weekend's clash between West Bromwich Albion and Liverpool, Baggies goalkeeper Scott Carson is tipping one of the Reds players to come to town full loaded.

Carson feels that Andy Carroll's first international goal for England midweek will have him turning up at The Hawthorns in a destructive mood and is expecting a big showing from the £35million man.

"Andy Carroll scored a great goal for England on Tuesday night, so he'll be full of confidence and it's going to be a difficult game, no question about it," Carson said.

"Maybe the goal for Andy came at the wrong time from our point of view did but everyone knows he's a handful and everyone knows his strengths.

"We've got to prepare for them and hopefully we can keep our own form going.

"Everyone thinks he's a big target man really but I think he showed against Ghana on Tuesday, in the way he came short for the ball and was laying off short balls, that he's got great feet.

"He showed his game is not all about people hanging the ball up to him to go and attack headers.

"He's a top player so we're going to have to be on our guard."
