West Brom intent on keeping Tottenham target Berahino – Fletcher

West Bromwich Albion skipper Darren Fletcher is confident that star forward Sadio Berahino will stay at The Hawthorns this summer.

The 21-year-old striker has been heavily linked with a move to Tottenham but Fletcher is sure he will remain at the club unless a ridiculous offer comes in.

"He's vital to us – he's our main goalscoring threat," Fletcher told talkSPORT.

"I can't speak highly enough of him, since the day I stepped in the door and getting to know him and passing on some advice, he's been top class – his attitude on and off the pitch.

"He's come back this season even hungrier, he was really disappointed to miss the Under-21 European Championships and he really wants a big season this year – he's one of those players who constantly does your head in as he always wants the ball.

"He's very important to us, I think we've got a good chance of keeping him – it'll take a real big offer to take him away because of how much quality he has.

"The figures branded, I've seen £15million – I can't see the club selling him for that, it'll take a lot more than that because of how important he is."
