West Bromwich Albion chief Dan Ashworth says they were impressed by DC United goalkeeper Bill Hamid during his recent trials.
Ashworth has left the door open to signing the USA squad member.
"He's 21 and has just broken into the national squad," Ashworth told the WBA website.
"He's very athletic, is a great kid and was nice and bright. We haven't had direct discussions with his club yet as he only went home a few days ago.
"So he's another one we will discuss, but the transfer window doesn't open until January so we can't do anything until then, or next summer."
