West Bromwich Albion caretaker boss Keith Downing has urged Shane Long to commit himself to the club.
The Republic of Ireland international is out of contract in the summer and has previously been a target for rival Premier League clubs including Hull City.
However, Downing wants him to put pen to a long-term contract so he remains a valued member of the Baggies squad.
"We are treating it that Shane is very much part of the set-up here," he told the Daily Star.
"The club are actively trying to get him to sign a new deal and we're quite confident of keeping him."
