West Brom to hold talks with West Ham target Olsson

West Bromwich Albion will hold discussions with Jonas Olsson regarding a new contract now he is available again.

The 29-year old centre-back has been busy representing Sweden at Euro2012 but now that he and his teammates have been eliminated from the competition, the Baggies will try and convince him to sign a new deal amidst strong interest from West Ham United and some clubs in Turkey.

"I didn't want to intrude too much because Jonas was out there representing his country and it was a big tournament for him," new Albion manager steve Clarke told Express & Star.

"Unfortunately it hasn't worked out for Sweden but I wanted to leave Jonas just to concentrate on his country.

"Hopefully between now and the report back for training date, I'll get the chance to meet him and have a chat with him.

"Ideally I want to keep all the contracted players and bring in another two or three that can help them.

"That would be the ideal scenario, although it doesn't always work out like that. Jonas is a key player for the team and the club and I'll do what I can to keep him here."
