West Bromwich Albion are planning to tie up Peter Odemwingie as soon as they can to prevent bigger clubs from coming in for him.
The Nigerian striker has emerged as a transfer target for Arsenal but the Baggies are determined to hold onto him after his 15-goal debut season at The Hawthorns.
His agent, David Omigie, told skysports.com that he will speak with West Brom soon about a new deal.
"West Brom are saying they want to keep Peter and agree a new deal and they know Peter is happy there so hopefully all parties can come to an agreement," he said.
"When top clubs like Arsenal or Chelsea show interest in you it is flattering.
"It is a big opportunity to play for a club in the Champions League and it is something any player would have to consider."
