West Brom hero Tchoyi: Man Utd success why I came to England

West Bromwich Albion hero Somen Tchoyi says his goalscoring performance at Manchester United was why he came to the Premier League.

His second-half display helped the Baggies overcome a 2-0 half-time deficit as he won the free-kick that led to their first goal and was in the right place at the right time to cash in on Edwin Van der Sar's blunder for the equaliser.

"It is important for the team because we got the point, but every goal is important for me," Tchoyi told the WBA website.

"I was surprised that the keeper dropped it but I was pleased. I wasn't surprised to be starting because, like all players, I want to play and I was just waiting for my chance.

"The gaffer didn't tell me but he put the team up at the training ground and I was ready for the game.

"I came to England to play in the big league and in my first game starting we got a point and I scored a goal, so I am happy about that.

"I tried my best on Saturday and every team selection is up to the coach."
