West Bromwich Albion hero Bob Taylor is keen to see Peter Odemwingie and Shane Long given a chance to form a lethal partnership.
Taylor joined Albion in 1992. He left six years later before re-signing in 2000 for three further years.
His best strike partner was Andy Hunt, who signed from Newcastle during the club's promotion year in 1993.
Taylor told the Sunday Mercury: "People forget that Peter Odemwingie played on his own last season.
"Shane Long can take pressure off him."
"Equally you have to work at things. You might need to do things which are alien to you - picking up different aspects of play, working on parts of the game that you wouldn't normally work on.
"You have to build a picture in your head and sometimes act on instinct. That's where it can go wrong. If one striker doesn't do that then both of you can struggle.
"It can take time. Let's hope it works out with Peter and Shane."
