West Brom hero Moore: U21 teams should play in Johnstone’s Paint Trophy

West Brom hero Darren Moore believes U21 Premier League squads should compete in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.

Moore is currently on the coaching staff at the Baggies academy.

He told the Birmingham Mail: “The Premier League have to look at ways and means of going into some of the competitions.

“So the top two teams in the U21s leagues would automatically get entered into the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.

“To actually go and play physically against those teams I think that would be like winning a cup competition.

“That would help the 21s league because teams would probably keep their better players to keep those top two spots and improve the standard of games.

“I don't think it would devalue competitions because they've got Premier League clubs in and Premier League players will play."
