West Brom head for warm weather training

West Brom boss Roberto Di Matteo hopes Albion's five-day trip to La Manga next week will put them in the right frame of mind for the hectic winter period, reports the Birmingham Mail. The Baggies have a two-week break after tomorrow's game against Leicester City, with the first-team squad travelling to the Spanish resort on Sunday.

Di Matteo said: "We are going to Spain. Looking at the weather we thought it was going to get worse and heavier and this is the only opportunity we have left to go away and train.

"So we are going to a training camp where the weather will hopefully be a bit better.

"Also we have had new players coming in so it's also important that the team finds itself in a different environment together and hopefully we can get a bit of team spirit going there.

"It's a resort called La Manga that everybody says is very good. It's apparently got immaculate pitches to train on.

"I have never been myself but everybody talks about it very highly."
