West Brom goalscorer Bednar pleased with winner

Roman Bednar headed home in the second minute of stoppage time to secure a vital 2-1 victory for West Brom over Manchester City. After squandering a couple of earlier opportunities Bednar was pleased to make amends with the winner.

"When I had not managed to take some good chances before, I said to myself I did not want to be blamed for not winning," Bednar told Denik Sport.

"So the goal was kind of a delivery. It is unbelievable. I took my jersey off and ran towards my girlfriend and the fans.

"After the game people in the dressing room called me 'different class' or 'world class'.

"It is true that I lost the ball once or twice during the game and I was on the move all the time.

"We co-operated well mainly with Luke (Moore). The coach was certainly satisfied as he came to me and two or three times shook hands with me."
