West Bromwich Albion are distancing themselves from talk of a deal for Markus Rosenborg.

The Express & Star says the 29-year-old, who is a free agent after leaving German outfit Werder Bremen this week, has been subject of widespread interest from a host of European clubs.

Albion admit that the former Ajax star is of interest to them but believe that interest is being mis-represented in order to further the transfer potential for the Malmo-born forward.

It has been claimed in Germany and Sweden that Premier League trio Swansea, QPR and long-term admirers Liverpool have all been in contact.
