West Brom fullback Hurst delighted with Blackpool debut

West Bromwich Albion fullback James Hurst was delighted with his debut for Blackpool on the weekend.

The full-back, a deadline-day loan signing from West Brom until the end of the season, played in the draw with Cardiff City.

"I'm very happy to have made my debut for the club," he told Blackpool's official website. "I'm glad we managed to get ourselves a point thanks to a great strike from Kevin Phillips.

"It was a spur of the moment thing from the manager to bring on three players at once, it was a spontaneous choice and I'm happy that he did.

"It was a very tough first half, I think they defended well and put us under a fair bit of pressure as well - it looked like it could be anyone's game at one point so we're happy with the point."
