West Bromwich Albion fear Nicolas Anelka will hang up his boots if he's handed a lengthy FA ban.
The Daily Star says the 34-year-old star has been charged by the FA following his headline-hitting 'quenelle' gesture and could be hit by a massive ban.
If found guilty he faces a minimum five-game ban but it could be even double that if the FA decided to make an example of him.
Fed-up Anelka is said to be so incensed at the storm over his goal celebration that he could simply quit the game altogether.
