West Bromwich Albion failed with a deadline day bid for Manchester City defender Nedum Onuoha.
The Express & Star says the Baggies tried to bring in at least one player during the final hours of the transfer window but ended up waving goodbye to three defenders, Pablo Ibanez, Marek Cech and James Hurst.
Albion tried to bring in a stopper during the closing stages of the transfer window, with Onuoha being among the club's last-ditch targets.
But the Baggies failed to do bring any one in.
