West Brom are facing competition for Spanish striker Alvaro Negredo.

Negredo spent last season on-loan at relegated Middlesbrough from Valencia - and Albion hope to keep him in England.

The striker is available from Los Che, but Albion won't get a clear run at his signing.

El Mundo Deportivo says Mexico's Cruz Azul are also interested in Negredo and have the spending power to compete with West Brom for his signature.

Cruz Azul's move for Negredo is being driven by their Spanish coach, Paco Jemez.
