Craig Gardner is ready to leave Sunderland when his contract ends in June.

The Journal says both parties appear to have accepted Gardner will depart in the summer.

West Bromwich Albion are interested in the midfielder but he is also on the hit-list of the trio of Midlands clubs currently battling for promotion from the Championship - with Derby, Nottingham Forest and Leicester all looking at him.
