The Birmingham Mail says the Baggies, who have been keeping a close eye on Tomasz Kuszczak's situation at Manchester United, are also looking at giant 23-year-old Romanian No1 Costel Pantilimon.
The 6ft 8ins Politehnica Timisoara keeper has been watched by a host of clubs after his step-up to the Romanian national team.
Scott Carson is expected to remain at the Hawthorns.
