West Brom eye QPR star Austin as Berahino contingency

West Bromwich Albion have reportedly set their sights on QPR striker Charlie Austin as a potential replacement for Saido Berahino.

West Brom have already knocked back offers of £15million and £19million from Tottenham for Berahino while recent reports suggest the Baggies have also turned down a £22m bid for the 22-year-old.

However, Spurs are determined to get their man and are reportedly set to raise their bid to £25million.

Despite West Brom chairman Jeremy Peace publicly stating the sale of Berahino is not on the Baggies' agenda, the Daily Express is reporting the club has identified R's ace Austin as a contingency.

West Brom manager Tony Pulis is said to be a fan of Austin, who has been linked with a number of Premier League clubs this summer.
