West Bromwich Albion have dropped their pursuit of Blackpool midfielder David Vaughan.
The Birmingham Mail says Vaughan spent Monday afternoon at Albion's training ground with sporting and technical director Dan Ashworth and the club's medical staff.
The Wales international was expected to decide between Albion and Sunderland but the Baggies have pre-empted his verdict by withdrawing their interest.
The Baggies have several midfield options already and are going through the formalities of the Zoltan Gera deal.
