West Brom defender Ridgewell retains England ambitions

West Bromwich Albion defender Liam Ridgewell admits he retains England ambitions.

An impressive start to the season for the left-back, who returned to training after injury on Friday, has failed to get him any nearer to Roy Hodgson's England squad.

"I'd love to be involved on the international stage, of course I would," he told the Sunday Mercury.

"Obviously I like the days off but I'd like to be involved in the internationals and going away, but that is a personal thing which you have to work towards.

"I've just got to try and play as well as I can for the club and hopefully that will get me noticed."
