Ipswich boss Paul Jewell has made enquiries for West Bromwich Albion defender Pablo Ibanez. The Spanish centre-half linked up with the Baggies last summer and struggled to force his way into their side throughout his debut campaign.
Jewell told his club's official website: "Ibanez is a target and we've spoken to West Brom about him as we would like to take him if he becomes available.
"Yet at the same time they don't want to let people go before they know that their squad is settled so we are going to have to be patient.
"I fully understand it, though, because if I was a Premier League manager I would want to see exactly how my squad is before selling, so it may be a case of waiting and seeing if something can happen after the window."
