Burnley have not given up on signing West Bromwich Albion defender Craig Dawson.
The Lancashire Evening Telegraph says the Clarets are understood to have had a bid rejected for Dawson, thought to have been in the region of £1m.
West Brom insist they do not want to sell Dawson but the 24-year-old is believed to be interested in a potential move to Turf Moor after hearing of Burnley's interest.
A number of clubs - including fellow promoted sides Leicester and QPR as well as a range of sides in the Championship - are thought to be monitoring developments.
