West Bromwich Albion and Leicester City are battling for free agent Bacary Sagna.
The Daily Mail says the 34-year-old was released by Manchester City at the end of last season and had been considered by Brighton, Chelsea, West Ham and Everton during the summer.
Albion have also been giving a trial to former QPR midfielder Karl Henry, 34.
West Brom and Leicester both registered fewer than 25 players in their Premier League squads at the start of the month.
Therefore Sagna would be eligible to be registered before January were he to sign a contract with one of the sides this year.
