West Brom confident beating Villa for Fulham striker Johnson

West Bromwich Albion boss Roy Hodgson is stepping up his bid for Fulham striker Andy Johnson.

The Sun says Hodgson signed Fulham frontman Johnson for £10.5million from Everton in 2008 when he was in charge at Craven Cottage.

But the ex-England forward will be available on a free transfer in June. Hodgson failed to land Johnson in January but expects to beat Aston Villa to his signature this time around.
