West Brom coach Appleton admits Hargreaves not priority

West Bromwich Albion coach Michael Appleton says former Manchester United midfielder Owen Hargreaves is not a priority target.

Appleton did confirm the Baggies would consider moving for the former Bayern Munich man - whose spell at Old Trafford was plagued by injuries - if he's fit for Premier League action.

When asked if there have been any discussions between West Brom and Hargreaves, he told Sportinglife.com: "Not that I'm aware of.

"In terms of Owen Hargreaves I think there will be a lot of clubs who are interested in him if he's fit or anywhere near fit to play football.

"I'm sure we will probably be one of the clubs interested if that's the situation but from our point of view we have a couple of key players we want to get in the building before we worry about Owen Hargreaves."
