West Brom are closing on a £14million move for Southampton striker Jay Rodriguez, according to The Mirror.

The report claims that new Saints boss Mauricio Pellegrino has given his approval to the move and the player is expected to complete the transfer by the weekend.

The 27-year-old scored five goals in 24 league appearances for the Saints last season.

However, only nine of those appearances came in the form of starts.

The Baggies have reportedly defeated the likes of Newcastle and Burnley in the race for the England international.
