West Bromwich Albion are believed to be close to securing the services of Birmingham City goalkeeper Ben Foster.
The Baggies will more than likely sign the 28-year old on an initial loan which could lead to a permanent deal from next season, giving manager Roy Hodgson the replacement he required for Scott Carson who left for Turkish club Bursaspor.
Foster joined Birmingham from Manchester United in May 2010 and enjoyed a stellar debut season between the posts for the Blues who were relegated to the Championship but it seems he will remain in the top flight with Press Association Sport suggesting a deal is almost done.
