West Bromwich Albion chief Richard Garlick is delighted with impact of football director Terry Burton.
Garlick was Albion sporting and technical director until Burton arrived in May, at which point he was shunted into a more administrative role.
"I get on very well with Terry, he and I speak, we have an office next to each other," Garlick told the Birmingham Mail.
"Terry has got the gravitas and the acceptance on the football side of things to speak with Alan (head coach Irvine) and the coaching staff.
"When things may have slowed down in the window or not be happening too quickly Terry is able to go and say 'Listen guys, we are doing this, this, this and this'.
"It's not just me saying that from the board's point of view and they kind of accept it if Terry says it because it's football. From that point of view that relationship has worked really well."
