West Bromwich Albion chief Dan Ashworth is already in regular contact with England coach Roy Hodgson ahead of his move to the FA.
Ashworth will leave the Hawthorns at the end of the season.
"I speak to Roy once a month," Ashworth told the Daily Express. "He has done what I expected with England. They are difficult to beat; they're Roy's teams aren't they?
"He knows what he's doing. He's structured and he's organised."
What England need is a better supply line, ever more quality.
But Ashworth added: "If Roy needs a midfield player, I cannot just fly to Argentina and sign Claudio Yacob.
"But we have got a huge talent pool here so one of my jobs is to make sure we are identifying the right players and get more continuity."
