West Brom chief Ashworth admits extra focus on US transfer market

West Bromwich Albion are keen to mine the US transfer market.

DC United goalkeeper Bill Hamid has just completed trials, while New York Red Bulls defender Tim Ream is about join up for a training stint.

"The US is a potential market for us," Baggies chief Dan Ashworth told the club's website.

"Landon joined Everton from January until the end of March and it proved very successful. It's not something we've delved into while I've been here, but it's an option.

"Things are slightly more complicated with the US market because you have to deal with the league and the club.

"The players' contracts are owned by the league, so they are part-owned by the league and their club.

"But it's certainly something we'd be open to."
