West Bromwich Albion are eyeing Juventus striker Nicolas Anelka.

The Sunday Mercury says the 34-year-old is technically looking for a new club following a six-month deal at Juventus - a period which was preceded by a one-year spell with Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua.

Anelka had a 12-month option built into the Juventus deal but he only made three appearances for the Italian club.

The former Manchester City and Arsenal man's name was first circulated to Albion at the end of the season.
