West Brom chairman Peace: Mowbray can spend

West Brom chairman Jeremy Peace says there'll be cash available for manager Tony Mowbray to spend this summer.

"Our spending won't be as big as other clubs because we are in the lower echelons of the league," Peace told the Birmingham Mail. "If Manchester United have £200 million of revenue and they spend 55 percent of it on player wages you have £110m.

"If you have £50m and you spend the same percentage you have £25m so the budget isn't as big.

"Listening to Tony, I think he has got the right attitude towards it.

"We've got a manager who has got the team playing in a certain way, which I think is suited to The Premier League.

"And if we as a board can do our bit and give him additional players and quality to try to compete I think we can really enjoy the season.

"Wherever we finish we will have given it our best shot and this week is part of the process.

"We will have done everything we can to try to preserve the club's status."
