West Bromwich Albion chairman Jeremy Peace insists there's no big gamble over their swoop for Brown Ideye.
Peace is upset over reports that Ideye was signed without manager Alan Irvine having seen him play.
He told the Birmingham Mail: "Until they start you never know, particularly the culture change with foreigners because you never know how they're going to bed in.
"Does it take them a season or a month, or are they like Peter Odemwingie who turned up and scored straight away."
