West Brom boss Tony Pulis is being linked with Newcastle United.

The Daily Mail says if he could mastermind a West Bromwich Albion victory against Newcastle United, the clamour for Steve McClaren to go would leave owner Mike Ashley a huge decision to make with relegation simply not an option.

The irony is that any vacancy at the north-east giants would leave two major candidates – David Moyes and the aforementioned Pulis.

At the age of 58, the Albion boss feels he deserves one big innings at a club with status and power.
