West Brom boss Tony Pulis has urged the media to cut Saido Berahino some slack.

The £20m-rated striker has gone back to France for help with his fitness and psychological issues.

Pulis said: “Inwardly he's looking at himself now, not everybody else and that's the way he will get better.

“The most important thing now is to leave the kid alone.

“I've spoken to him today and he's fine. He needs to get himself sorted out.

“We all have to let him get on with it and, fingers crossed, he will come back and get back to the sort of form we know he's capable of."
