West Brom boss Tony Pulis is chasing Everton midfielder James McCarthy.

The Daily Mail says Pulis has made McCarthy his No 1 target for January.

Pulis tried and failed to sign the Republic of Ireland international last summer but is ready to revive his efforts and is lining up a £15million bid.

Pulis has considered Morgan Schneiderlin at Manchester United but he is among one of the names on Everton's list and ironically could replace the unsettled McCarthy at Goodison should he be sold.
