West Brom boss Tony Pulis says he'll make mistakes in the transfer market.

The Welshman, whose team take on Everton on Monday night, admits not every signing will prove inspired and said even the best coaches make errant acquisitions.

“This has to be a gradual build," he said.

“Every window you've got to keep getting better players in.

“Some players you'll sign and think they're the right decision, but they're not the right decisions.

“That happens.

“Even the great managers, like Sir Alex Ferguson and Jose Mourinho, they all make mistakes with bringing players in.

“I'm not saying we have, but that's the way it works so you shift again and you shift again.

“The important thing is that the club keeps shifting forward and keeps going up a gear and not just sitting and ponder and paddle."
