West Brom boss Pulis hoping Berahino listens to his advice

West Bromwich Albion boss Tony Pulis hopes Saido Berahino listens to him when it comes to career advice.

Pulis believes footballers should take their career advice from coaches and managers and leave the finances to their agents.

"Agents can have a massive influence on players in lots of respects," he said.

"My argument to that is in the same in life, you get good agents and you get bad agents and you hope and pray they are good for their players and they look after their players.

"The big thing is, we should never forget this, they are professional footballers and have been given a gift and they have a lifespan of about 10-12 years.

"To be the best, that is what they should be aiming for. If I had an agent I'd just say 'look after the money, make sure when I finish this job I have enough money to look after my family and everything around me'.

"I wouldn't be talking to my agent about football, I'd be talking to him about other matters.

"I'd let the coaches and the people who are at football clubs who know about the jobs and what's needed and hope they improve you as an individual to take you to the level you could achieve.

"Saido could play in the national first team, Sterling is, Saido and Sterling have that ability."
