West Bromwich Albion boss Tony Pulis is open to extending Saido Berahino's deal.
Berahino's contract has two seasons to run with Albion clearly looking at a long-term deal some time in the near future.
"I'm not a great lover (of long contracts) unless you know (it is for) Saido. We signed Ryan Shawcross on a long contract (at Stoke from Manchester United). Shawcross was a bed-rock of what that club was going to do, so he was signed on a long contract. That's a different matter. There's always four or five players within the group who you hope and pray stay at the football club.
"But there's a lot of players who move up and down and they are the ones that I think you have to be very careful with."
