West Brom boss Pulis backing Chelsea for title push; prepares for Lai meeting

West Brom boss Tony Pulis believes Chelsea are still capable of successfully defending their title.

The two teams meet later today.

Pulis said, "I wouldn't write anybody off at the moment.

"The big thing with the group at the top is they're all involved with the European cup competitions so no-one's got a free run at it.

"It will be interesting as winter now progresses to see how they get on, especially with a lot of game over Christmas.

"It depends on if they're lucky with injuries and whether their players retain the form they've shown earlier in the season."

Meanwhile, Pulis will meet with Albion owner Guochuan Lai after the game.

He said, "I've got the greatest respect for Mr Lai. I think he's an absolutely wonderful person and he'll be very supportive as he always is.

"I know as well as everybody else.

"I've been in the game a long time. I think the last time I had a run was 2004 or 2005 so that was 13 years ago.

"So every 13 years I tend to have a dodgy run, so let's hope it rolls away and I have a bit of success before it's another 13 years. I'll put it in my diary and make sure I'm retired by that time."
