West Bromwich Albion manager Tony Pulis cannot fathom why the Premier League held matches on the final day of the winter transfer market.
Deadline day occurred on Tuesday in conjunction with seven league fixtures, making it difficult for clubs to finalise transfers as they were focused on competing.
"The window for me is crazy," said Pulis.
"I'd go back to the open market, it is just a crazy situation.
"To have it on the final day and arrange games is just astonishing really."
Despite this, Albion managed to land the loan signing of Marc Wilson from AFC Bournemouth prior to the 11pm deadline.
