West Brom boss Tony Mowbray isn't confident of landing an experienced loan player from a top club.
"It's very difficult to bring an experienced Premier League player into your squad," Mowbray insisted on WBA's website.
"Generally, unless the other club is helping you, you can't afford the salary an experienced Premier League footballer earns. There are at least half the teams in our league who would be wary about loaning us a player anyway because the table is so tight.
"An experienced player from one of the big four or six clubs would invariably not want to go to the bottom club in the league unless they are right at the end of their career and looking for their last bit of football.
"We will wait and see how we utilise that last domestic loan."
