West Brom boss Mowbray slams TV pundit Gray

West Brom boss Tony Mowbray has hit out at TV pundit Andy Gray.

Promoted Albion continue to prop up the Premier League after a dismal 2-0 loss at Fulham on Sunday.

And ex-Everton striker turned TV pundit Gray claimed the Baggies made only six tackles in the defeat, which could have been far worse as Fulham rattled the woodwork four times.

Gray's observation has fuelled talk Albion are too soft and not aggressive enough to stay up.

But Baggies boss Mowbray - whose side visit Everton tomorrow - insisted: "It is a load of b******s. You don't need to go round kicking people and getting yourselves booked to have a good game. You don't need to be over-aggressive to be a good team.

"Six fouls - I don't care. I am not interested in statistics.

"We could have won the game 1-0 as it was 0-0 after 60 minutes. It is the quality of footballer who wins football matches, full stop."

Mowbray believes Gray is biased towards some of his pals in the game. Mowbray added: "He doesn't know me. It is not like we are going for a drink and he might have been thinking, 'Oh, I hope I didn't upset you saying that'.

"And yet I know he has probably got some mates in football, who he does go for a drink with, and he probably isn't quite as critical of them."
