West Brom boss Tony Mowbray isn't bothered about pushing Scott Carson's England credentials.
He said: "What will be will be. I just want Scott to play well this weekend. If he gets called up, good luck to him. If he doesn't, he's got a long, long career ahead of him."
Carson, 23, spent last season on loan at Aston Villa and a £10m move had been provisionally agreed.
But Villa decided not to go ahead so West Brom pounced.
Mowbray added: "I'm only interested in what he does for us and he is doing exceptionally well. I didn't know how mentally strong he was until I got to work with him.
"He has humility and doesn't carry any ego around with him."
